We’ll evaluate your skin issues and discuss the best chemical peel choice for your skin and your goals. Some peels can cause mild redness, crusting, and a burning or stinging sensation for a few days after your procedure. Your skin will look fresh, more smooth, and younger in just a few days after the procedure.
Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA)
Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) Peels, considered as the lowest grade of chemical peels, are efficient for revitalizing rough and dry skin. Dark spots and skin discolourations caused by aging, hormones and sun damage can be reduced when an AHA Peel is mixed with skin bleaching agents.
These peels take about 10 minutes and will leave the skin feeling dry and looking reddish in colour – this is normal. Best results can be expected in approximately 5 days.
Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Peel
Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Peel, considered as a medium grade chemical peel, can effectively treat fine lines, slight skin imperfections and can help treat surface level acne. Darker skin may require additional treatments over the course of a couple of months.
The TCA Peel takes about 15 and cause mild swelling and leave the skin red, peeling and scabbing.
The downtime for a TCA Peel can range between 5-10 days, depending how quickly the face heals. During this time period you should avoid the sun.
